Each summer school had certain profile, associated with the project, or current trends in science. The unique form of the summer school consisted on the following organizational pattern: arrival day, five days for training, involving half-a-day time for excursions in mid-term, and departure day.

- Scientific topics categorized as: a) theoretical background, b) academic rese arch, c) technological advances. Invited Speakers were recruited from academic units and industry.
- Lectures were reinforced by highly-rated Scientific Consulting Sessions after dinner, in a relaxed atmosphere, when all questions were accepted and knowledge in-depth was presented in the form of supplementary ppt presentations. Time was not limited.
- Poster Session and Short Talks were scheduled for young participants. Awards for the best presentations were offered.
- The option for “Hard & Soft Skills” Training was required in certain projects and was organized by the Foundation staff. The training was offered after out-door activities.
- Out-door activities were organized for all participants to refresh after heavily scheduled scientific program. There were several options, such as kayaking, horse riding, bikes, trekking, Nordic walking, boats on the river with crew, and first-class ballooning. At the day of excursions bonfire and discotheque was set-up in the evening.
- Our philosophy is “continuous improvement” of our services, thus all participants, including Speakers, are kindly requested to fill in the anonymous questionnaire on-line allowing the Organizers to boost even better services in the next editions of our summer schools.
- The Organizers keep in mind that IKSS events are not merely intensive scientific training, but there must be also good fun: sport-and-leisure, excursions, discotheque, bonfire, and for dedicated adventurers – first class ballooning.
